2021/22 Annual Report: Coming Back Together

Jan De Silva:                     At the Toronto Region Board Of Trade, we bring the business community together to tackle complex challenges. While we've had rough patches in our 176 year history, 2021 put our collaborative approach to the test.

Yung Wu:                          Our members and partners came together in an unprecedented way to deal with an unprecedented crisis. From the start of the pandemic, we've helped the economy stay open by supporting hundreds of businesses while working with our government partners.

Jan De Silva:                     Our commitment to working together was our biggest strength. We convened to build toolkits and support for businesses of all sizes, including partnering with the city of Toronto to provide free rapid testing kits for our small business community.

Yung Wu:                          We identified distinct economic districts, each with unique wants, needs, and potential. Still for many businesses, a difficult journey to a full recovery continues.

Jan De Silva:                     We'll continue to support their efforts, as well as addressing other complex topics, like our transition to the climate economy, closing the talent gap, addressing the movement of people and goods, and striking the right balance for effective land use and housing.

Yung Wu:                          We look forward to hearing your thoughts on our annual report, and we look forward to continuing these conversations.
