The World Trade Center Toronto's Market Activation Program (MAP) is a comprehensive program that activates companies in key international markets. MAP is your international business development team!
We design strategies that prepare companies with the right resources and knowledge to prepare for market entry. Then, we travel with these companies to explore these markets and create curated opportunities with potential clients and partners.
Ultimately, MAP provides companies the tools and network required to become successful abroad.
How MAP Works
Each program is divided into different trade missions where each mission focuses on a specific sector and international location. Past trade missions have explored tech and manufacturing in Singapore, cleantech in Mexico, to health and life sciences in the UAE. Depending on the location, trade missions may include in-person, virtual, or hybrid elements.
Phase 1: Market Education
We’ll help you understand the market you’re interested in, identify new opportunities there and strategize on how to take advantage of those opportunities.
Phase 2: Activation Workshops
In our interactive workshops you’ll set pre-market entry objectives and be guided through preparing to enter a specific market – from logistics and financing to sales and business etiquette.
Phase 3: In-Market Business Development
We’ll take you to your target market – virtually, in person or both. These missions are focused on development your relationships in that market with highly curated B2B programming, networking opportunities and trade shows.
The MAP Advantage
MAP provides unparalleled access to international markets. Participating businesses reported an average 26% growth in staff and an average 55% growth in export revenue within one year of joining a MAP mission.
Since its inception, MAP has explored 27 countries (and counting) and over 310 businesses have gone on MAP trade missions.
